Everyone knows that the most basic MUST-HAVE in clinics are the Emergency Drugs. You never know when the need arises because emergencies come uncalled! And as a doctor, you must always be prepared.

What are emergency drugs?
These are the fast-acting drugs which are used for acutely ill patients who are in need of an emergency.

What is an emergency drug kit?
Basically, all the emergency drugs should be kept within one container at the most accessible place in your clinic. What you lable this will be called, an emergency drug kit.

1. Asthalin (CIPLA)-

• Used in Bronchial Asthma, COPD
• Given if patient starts experiencing respiratory depression

2. Sorbitrate (ABBOT)-

• Isosorbide dinitrate tablets
• Used in Angina Attack
• Given in floor of the mouth for fastest absorption. Patient gets relief soon.
• Relaxes and widens blood vessels so it can easily flow to the heart 
• Price - 45/- approx.
3. Dexona 2ml (ZYDUS ALIDAC)

•Dexamethasone injection (corticosteroid)
• Can be given if sudden swelling arises in patients oral cavity due to some traumatic event during a procedure/extraction.
• Also, it opens the airway in case of any respiratory depression.
• Dosage - 4mg

4. Trenaxa 5ml (MACLEODS)

• Tranexamic Injection
• Use - If bleeding doesn't stop after extraction
• Price - 80/- approx.
5. Avil 2ml (SANOFI INDIA)

• Chlorpheniramine Maleate Injection
• In case of any kind of allergic response.
• Price - 5/- per vial approx.
6. Phenergan 2ml- (ABBOT)

• Promethazine
• Vomiting

7. Primacort-100

• Hydrocortisone Sodium Succinate Injection
• In patients who are having breathing difficulty
• Respiratory Depression

8. Disprin 325mg

• Aspirin
• Cardiac Patients

9. Adrenaline Tartrate injection

• If the patient is collapsing
• Relieves wheezing and breathlessness by relieving pathways
